Lamontville Golden Arrows shoved Bush Bucks closer to relegation when they trounced them 3-1 in a Castle Premiership encounter played at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The home side led 1-0 at interval thanks to a strike by Papi Zothwane, who converted a pinpoint cross ball from Mabhuti Khanyeza in the third minute.
Zothwane failed to increase the lead five minutes later when his powerful shot went over the bar with Bucks goalkeeper Tapungu Dikete beaten hands down.
In the 25th minute, Mabhuti missed a sitter after rounding Dikete but fumbled in front of empty goals. However, Abafana Besthende’s sensational striker Thokozani Mshengu scored in the 50th minute after beating an off-side trap.
The visitors pulled one back in the in the 72nd minute through Gomoshe Manelisi, who received an excellent pass from Jonathan Amogan.
In the 80th minute, Arrows introduced Lucas Thwala for Justice Sithole. This substitution bore fruit for Arrows mentor Khabo Zondo, as Thwala netted a goal a minute later when his powerful free kick beat Dikete. — Sapa
