Exciting victory for Bush Bucks

In the most exciting Castle Premiership encounter on Saturday, Bush Bucks beat Moroka Swallows 3-2 at the Rand Stadium.

Bucks’ Bulelani Matroos opened the scoring in the 43rd minute with a well-taken header. Swallows equalised in the 55th minute after Alois Ngwerume stabbed the ball home from close range.

Bucks regained their lead when Agent Sawu found the net in the 79th minute, but four minutes later Swallows were once again level through Cecil Oerson.

However, Edmore Mashiri scored the winner for Bucks with two minutes remaining.

In Giyani, Dynamos and Santos played to a goalless draw. Dynamos had the best chance of scoring when Sandile Ddlovu had his penalty attempt saved by Santos goalkeeper Brendon Wardle in the 55th minute.

Another draw was played out at the Malamulele Stadium when Black Leopards and Golden Arrows drew 1-1. Arrows’ Mabhuti Khanyeza opened the scoring in the 17th minute, but Mulondo Sikwivhilu got the crucial equaliser in the 22nd minute.

In the late game on Saturday evening, log leaders Orlando Pirates went nine points clear of second-placed Kaizer Chiefs when they beat Silver Stars 2-1 at the Johannesburg Stadium.

Steve Lekoelea put Pirates ahead in the 62nd minute after the Stars goalkeeper failed to hold on to a cross from Perry Mutapa. December Ngobeni equalised for Stars in the 71st minute after Willem Jackson’s strike rebounded off the upright.

Mutapa made sure of the three points in the 83rd minute by tapping in a cross from Onyekachi Okonkwo. — Sapa
