A few years ago, a five-year-old came to my class with a scar from a burn on his cheek. He said that he had accidentally burnt himself with an iron. It seemed rather unusual for an iron to have burnt him as the scar looked as if somebody had placed a hot object on his skin. Upon further investigation I discovered that this was no accident. I reported the matter to the principal and the mother was called in. She confessed to punishing him by heating a knife on the stove and burning him on the cheek. The mother was very apologetic and admitted that it was her fault and she had done this in a moment of frustration.
Don’t let your moment of frustration turn out to be a lifetime of regret.
