Critically injured Muvhango star to be replaced

Television actress Lindiwe Cibi will be replaced in the popular drama series Muvhango until she recovers, a production source said on Thursday.

A replacement has not yet been found and auditions are continuing, he said.

Cibi, who was shot in the head at her Soweto home on Saturday, remains in a critical condition at the Garden City hospital.

”Her condition has not changed. She is still critical, but stable,” said hospital spokesperson Dhiran Thakor.

She was admitted to hospital after Dan Mokoena, believed to be her boyfriend, allegedly shot her.

Police say he was arrested by residents shortly after the incident while trying to escape the scene in Cibi’s car.

He remains in custody and will reappear in the Protea Magistrate’s Court in Soweto on May 10. He faces charges of attempted murder, robbery under aggravating circumstances, pointing of a firearm and reckless driving. — Sapa
