ANC leaders re-elected in KwaZulu-Natal

The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal held its provincial conference over the weekend where it elected its new leaders.

Premier Sibusiso Ndebele was re-elected ”unanimously and unopposed” as provincial chairperson of the party, provincial spokesperson Mtholephi Mthimkhulu said on Sunday.

Zweli Mkhize was also re-elected ”unanimously and unopposed” as deputy chairperson.

Senzo Mchunu was elected secretary, Mbuso Kubheka was elected deputy secretary and Mike Mabuyakhulu was elected treasurer.

Mthimkhulu said the team will vigorously intensify programmes to strengthen governance and fight poverty and underdevelopment in the province.

”Their other main task will be to mobilise people for a decisive ANC victory in the coming local government elections,” he said in a statement.

More than 700 delegates attended the conference. — Sapa
