Wesley Snipes runs into trouble at Jo’burg airport

United States actor Wesley Snipes was allegedly held briefly at the Johannesburg International airport on Wednesday night due to problems with his passport.

A source who wanted to remain anonymous told Sapa that Snipes was held because he was in possession of a false passport.

Home Affairs spokesperson Leslie Mashokwe confirmed that Snipes was ”interviewed” at the airport.

”Mr Snipes was interviewed by home affairs officials, his travel documents were processed and he is leaving the country on his way to Geneva,” Mashokwe said.

He would, however, not comment on the allegation that Snipes was in possession of a false passport.

”He was processed as all other travellers who pass through our airports. I believe I’ve given you a well-fleshed statement,” he said.

Snipes has starred in action movies like Demolition Man and Blade – Sapa
