A Northern Cape man lost part of his tongue when he tried to grab and kiss a woman in Galeshewe in Kimberley, Northern Cape police said on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Captain Tony Modise said the incident happened on Sunday when the man tried to overpower a woman at her house in Tidimalo Street in Club 2000 in Galeshewe.
”The woman answered a knock at the door and when she opened, the man started to grab and kiss her. The man had his tongue in her mouth, but she bit a piece off while pushing him away,” said Modise.
The matter was reported to the police, who found the man at a local hospital receiving medical attention.
”Quiet a big front part of the tongue is missing,” said Modise.
The woman apparent threw the piece that was bitten off in an outside dustbin and it could not be found later.
Modise said the man handed himself over to police and is in custody.
He is expected on appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of indecent assault. — Sapa
