New broom at SABC vows to crack down on corruption

Dali Mpofu, the new group chief executive officer of the South African Broadcasting Corporation, took up his new job on Monday with a firm stance against corruption, SABC news reported.

Mpofu takes over the management of the SABC from Peter Matlare who resigned earlier this year.

Mpofu said he hoped to bring values like team-building, integrity and respect to the corporation.

He made it clear that corruption and mismanagement would not be tolerated.

”For anybody to steal even one cent from the people of this country with resources stretched as they are, is an unforgivable crime.

”The issue of zero tolerance is going to be practised. The first person that is caught will be used as an example,” Mpofu said. – Sapa
