Bush Bucks and Jomo Cosmos played to a scrappy, goalless draw in their Premier League soccer match played on Wednesday in East London.
Both teams came out of the blocks forcefully, with Bucks’ promising striker Phikolethu Stelman coming the closest in the 17th minute, but his shot was blocked by Cosmos defender Mokeke Tsotetsi.
Cosmos coach Jomo Sono was forced to make a change in the 20th minute, introducing Mhlathi for the injured Helman Mkhalele.
Both teams failed to take their chances, with Cosmos strikers Mamadou Diallo and Anthony Laffor shooting wide in the 23rd and 45th minutes respectively.
For the home side, Stelman failed to finish off a promising move started by Bulelemi Matroof, and with both teams unable to break the deadlock, they went into the interval goalless.
The second half started with both teams pushing forward, but they were unable to get the breakthrough they desperately craved.
On the strength of this showing, Bucks should go shopping for a quality striker after scoring only once in three games. — Sapa
