Mamelodi Sundowns dropped their first league points of the season when they were held to a 1-1 draw by inspired Golden Arrows at Loftus Stadium on Tuesday.
Both teams created chances throughout the game, but poor finishing let them down in the early stages.
The breakthrough came in the 80th minute when Sundowns’ Sandile Ndlovu tapped home inside the box after Arrows goalkeeper Kalililo Kakonje failed to gather the ball from a free kick.
Deep into the referee’s optional time in the second half, Arrows squared matters when veteran striker Alton Meiring headed home in the box from a free kick to silence the strong Sundowns crowd and earn his team a valuable away point. — Sapa
