Santos battle to a draw with Pirates

League leaders Pirates held on for a 3-3 draw in their Premiership match against Santos, which was played at the Greenpoint Stadium in Cape Town, after leading 2-0 at the interval.

The home side looked as if they had snatched an early lead, but then Lebohang Kukume was adjudged to be off-side and that was all the incentive the visitors needed as they stepped up to score two unanswered goals via the boots of Isaac Chanse and Lello Nbele.

The 56th minute saw Santos put their first points on the board with Sebastian Bax slotting home after a poor clearance and less than one minute later Pirates added their third via the boot of Mbele.

However, two goals in three minutes from Musa Otieno and Carlo Scott saw the home side hold on for the draw to retain their unbeaten record. - Sapa
