The top half of a pedestrian’s body was found in Slovoville on the West Rand a day after his legs were discovered 30km away on the Golden Highway offramp, Johannesburg metro police said on Monday.
Spokesperson Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the man had been run over by a vehicle on the offramp from the N1 to the Golden Highway on Saturday.
Only his legs were found at the scene of the accident.
The rest of his body was discovered the following day in Slovoville by a farm worker.
Minnaar said there were tyre tread marks next to it.
”It’s not yet clear how the body got there.”
He said the top half of the body was found to match the legs when all the parts were taken to a mortuary.
