Striking staff of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) will be asked to consider new proposals that emerged from the latest round of pay talks, the staff association’s secretary general said on Friday.
”There is some movement and we will take the proposals to the parties to see if there is buy-in.
”We will also get feedback from national leadership,” said Lekau Dibakwane, of the Commission Staff Association.
Staff at the dispute resolution specialists have been on strike since Wednesday over issues including the rate of increase and salary scales of workers doing the same jobs.
The dispute resolution talks are being facilitated by an independent mediator. — Sapa
