Johan Prinsloo, CEO of the South African Rugby Union, was found not guilty of sexual harassment subsequent to a formal disciplinary hearing held in Cape Town.
Prinsloo was found not guilty on all charges relating to alleged sexual harassment.
Prinsloo’s legal representatives stated that although not surprised, they are satisfied with the outcome of the hearing.
They stated furthermore that Prinsloo is a well-known and respected rugby administrator around the world and that their client has been vindicated of all alleged wrongdoings.
The media statement issued by Prinsloo’s attorneys on Friday stated that SA Rugby is satisfied that the formal hearing was conducted in a professional and fair manner to all parties and that it respects the chairperson’s finding.
An official in SA Rugby’s human resources division informed Prinsloo early in September this year that a married male contract worker in the Cape IT division had laid the charge of sexual harassment.
Although the matter was supposed to be confidential, Prinsloo said at the time he understood the story was already doing the rounds. — Sapa
