Another two of the men arrested in connection with the death of actor Brett Goldin and his friend Richard Bloom were jailed on Monday, according to radio station Cape Talk.
It said Zubair Davids and Yazeed Eyssen were sentenced to two years’ jail each by a Wynberg regional magistrate after entering into a plea bargain on charges of vehicle theft and possession of stolen goods and an unlicensed gun and ammunition.
They were warned that the plea bargain was conditional on their giving evidence against the remaining two accused, Clinton Davids and Shavon Marlie, who will appear in court again on August 18.
It is not yet known whether they intend to apply for bail.
The latest plea bargain follows the sentencing on Friday of Jade Wyngaard and Nurshad Davids to 15 years each for robbery, abduction and possession of an unlicensed gun and ammunition.
Three years of the sentence were suspended for five years on condition that the men were not convicted of robbery or attempted robbery or abduction during that time.
Davids and Wyngaard have admitted that they, together with Marlie and Clinton Davids, went to Camps Bay on April 15 to steal a car, and encountered Goldin and Bloom.
They forced their victims at gunpoint into Bloom’s vehicle, then drove away, leaving them with Marlie and Clinton Davids.
Goldin and Bloom’s naked bodies were found alongside Cape Town’s M5 freeway on April 17, each shot once in the back of the head. — Sapa
