Five more airport-heist accused in court

Five more men arrested following the massive heist at Johannesburg International airport in March appeared briefly before a Kempton Park regional magistrate on Thursday.

The court heard that a sixth was unable to attend court having been admitted to hospital.

The latest six join nine others, among them Airports Company South Africa employees, on charges of armed robbery.

The nine were scheduled to appear before the Johannesburg High Court on Thursday to appeal against their having been denied bail.

The five who appeared in Kempton Park were Rashdee Rudolf (42) of Cape Town, a Namibian, Uakareraije Maundu (36) and his compatriot Uakotokia Tjindinda (37), Tebogo Nhlapo (31) of Boksburg and Fox Sithole (31) of Vosloorus.

Shaid Rudolf (43) of Eersterus was ill in the Pretoria West Hospital, the court heard.

The case was postponed to June 14. — Sapa
