Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has verbally agreed to join Real Madrid on a three-year deal, according to a Dutch press report on Friday.
The country’s biggest newspaper De Telegraaf said: ”Ruud van Nistelrooy (30) has come to a verbal agreement with Real Madrid.
”The Netherlands international could sign a three-year contract in the Spanish capital.
”Van Nistelrooy is depending on negotiations between Real and his current club Manchester United.”
The paper added that United are expecting a transfer fee of $19-million. However, Van Nistelrooy’s agent refused to confirm the rumour.
”Ruud hopes to publicly state his new club before returning to training with Manchester United on July 24,” said Ruud Linse. — AFP
