Luxemburg’s Frank Schleck won the 15th stage of the Tour de France over 187km from Gap to L’Alpe d’Huez on Tuesday.
The CSC rider, who won the Amstel Gold Race earlier this year, finished 11 seconds ahead of Italian Damiano Cunego of the Lampre team.
Italy’s Stefano Garzelli (Liquigas) was third, one minute 10 seconds adrift of Schleck after outsprinting American Floyd Landis, who had to settle for fourth but took the overall leader’s yellow jersey from Spaniard Oscar Pereiro Sio.
Wednesday will be another testing day for the favourites as the 16th stage takes the peloton over 182km from Bourg d’Oisans to La Toussuire. — Reuters
