Pretoria police officers arrested three men and seized a police identity document, a firearm with the serial number filed off, counterfeit money and drugs early on Tuesday.
They made the find after searching a car they had followed from Colbyn to an Engen service station Garage in Church Street, said Inspector Katlego Mogale.
When the officers searched the vehicle they found a police identity document, the firearm, eight rounds of ammunition and drugs including magic mushrooms, crack cocaine, CAT, ecstasy and a date rape drug.
They also discovered R300 in counterfeit bank notes, R1 500 and 50 Zambian Kwacha, a laptop, memory stick, digital camera, ten cellphones, syringes and other drug paraphernalia.
The three occupants of the car — two 25-year-old men and a 24-year-old — were arrested on the spot, said Mogale.
In a separate incident, the Lyttelton police tracing unit arrested a 26-year-old man sought for eight cases of housebreaking and two armed robberies, said Mogale.
He was cornered in Schoeman Street in the Pretoria CBD.
Mogale said police were investigating whether he could be linked to other cases. – Sapa
