The body of a 45-year-old Mpumalanga woman was stolen from a mortuary in Ermelo, police said on Friday.
Superintendent Abie Khoabane said that Sibongile Nhlabathi’s body was taken to Siza Funeral Services at 11am on Thursday after she died of natural causes.
”This [Friday] morning at 10am an employee discovered that the mortuary had been broken into and that Nhlabathi’s body was missing.”
Three other bodies, including that of Nhlabathi’s husband, who died last week, were still in the mortuary.
Khoabane urged anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Captain Sipho Nkosi on Tel: 082 493 2588 or call Crime Stop on Tel: 08600 10111. — Sapa
