Sex-crimes accused Cezanne Visser has told the Pretoria High court she has appointed a new legal team to handle her future defence, South African Broadcasting Commission (SABC) radio news reported on Tuesday.
Visser, an advocate herself, said she fired her former legal representative Casper Badenhorst because she was not satisfied with the way he was handling her defence.
She and her co-accused Dirk Prinsloo pleaded not guilty to charges of indecent assault, soliciting minors to commit indecent acts, exploiting a minor, the possession and manufacture of child pornography and fraud.
Prinsloo fled the country in May and is believed to be in Russia.
The case has been postponed until Wednesday, when Visser’s new legal team will ask for a postponement until March next year to allow them to prepare her defence, the SABC reports. — Sapa
