The retail price of all grades of petrol will decline by 36 cents per litre from September 6, the Department of Minerals and Energy Affiars said on Friday.
The wholesale price of diesel 0,05% sulphur and 0,005% sulphur will fall by 25c/l and 29c/l respectively on the same date.
The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will fall by 5c/l, while the single maximum national retail price of illuminating paraffin will decline by 7c/l.
The latest changes bring the retail price of a litre of 95 octane unleaded petrol in Gauteng to 668c/l and to 644c/l at the coast.
During the period under review — July 28 to August 31 — the average international product price of petrol and diesel decreased, while that of illuminating paraffin increased.
The rand/US dollar exchange rate strengthened compared to the previous period and averaged 6,9705 compared with 7,1276 in the previous period. – I-Net Bridge
