A fire ravaged a home owned by Teazers strip club boss Lolly Jackson in Johannesburg on Thursday, he told the media.
The damage to the home was estimated to be about R3-million, excluding damage to the personal belongings of the Romanian women living on the property.
”The fire started in a bedroom and spread rapidly through the house,” Jackson said.
He was told about the fire early on Thursday morning and rushed to the property on Arbroth Road in Bedfordview, stopping at the local fire station to get help.
”I got to the house and attempted to put the fire out with a hose pipe and they [emergency services] only arrived much later,” he said. Jackson was relieved as none of his employees living in the house were injured.
”I am trying to find accommodation for them but they lost all their personal belongings and documents.”
Emergency services spokesperson Sugan Moodley said an investigation into the cause of the fire would follow.
”The damage caused to the property is extensive and the cause [of the fire] is unknown,” he said. — Sapa
