Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang was in a stable condition after contracting a lung infection, but would spend the rest of the weekend in hospital, her spokesperson said on Saturday.
”She is taking her medication, she is stable, but we are not expecting her to be discharged this weekend,” said Sibani Mngadi.
”She will probably remain at the hospital for a few days still.”
Tshabalala-Msimang was admitted to the Johannesburg hospital on Thursday with a lung infection.
Mngadi said the minister had chosen the Johannesburg hospital as she ”always prefers public hospitals” and had used the hospital a few times before.
”We have tried to make sure she does not receive any visitors except family members and a few support people from the office who may need to be there for urgent issues.” – Sapa
