Public Enterprises Minister Alec Erwin has appointed six new members to the South African Airways (SAA) board, a spokesperson said on Monday.
The new members were Francine-Ann du Plessis, Jeurgen Schrempp, Nkosana Moyo, Koosum Kalyan, Billy Modise and Margie Whitehouse, said Gaynor Kast in a statement.
”The minister is confident that these appointments will strengthen the SAA board as each individual has the requisite skills to implement the airlines turnaround strategy.”
After consultation with the Cabinet, Erwin re-appointed three members to the board.
The appointments were for a period of three years, starting from September 16 until the annual general meeting in 2009, said Kast.
She said the minister thanked the outgoing board members for their hard work and commitment shown during their term of office. – Sapa
