Ford steps down as Dolphins coach

Dolphins head coach Graham Ford has asked to be released from his contract with the Dolphins for personal reasons.

Ford, who coaches Kent in the English County Championship, returned to the Dolphins set-up this season after an absence from the local scene.

He is highly respected in cricketing circles and is still considered one of the best coaches in the country.

The CEO of the KZN Cricket Union, Cassim Docrat, said: ”It is very sad to lose Graham Ford as head coach of the Dolphins. We are in a rebuilding phase and Graham has a proven track record in bringing young players through.

”However, we have to respect his personal wishes and wish him well.

”Our doors are always open to Graham in whichever capacity he wishes to contribute to KZN Cricket.”

Provincial team coach Yashin Ebrahim will take over as Dolphins coach with immediate effect and will be in charge for Friday night’s MTN Domestic League Limited Overs match against the Cape Cobras at Kingsmead.

It is a match the Dolphins need to win after three losses in a row.
