Egypt are hoping Tottenham Hotspur striker Mido recovers in time from a knee injury to play against South Africa in London on Wednesday.
The forward, who did not play against Reading in the English premier league on Sunday, has been named in a 20-man squad for the match at Griffin Park.
Egypt coach Hassan Shehata has called up uncapped striker Ahmed Hassan to a 20-man squad.
Hassan, not to be confused with the team’s captain, who plays at Anderlecht, is the top goal scorer in the Egyptian premier league.
The squad includes five players from Al Ahli, who won the African Champions League on Saturday. – Reuters
