Women’s magazine Femina now in Media24 stable

Women’s magazine Femina has been sold to Media24, Associated Magazines said in a statement on Wednesday.

Jane Raphaely, chairperson of Associated Magazines, said the sale will enable the company to diversify in areas outside the women’s magazine sector.

Associated Magazines publications included Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, O and House and Leisure.

Femina is an excellent brand with the longest history on the women’s magazine market in South Africa and fits very neatly into Media24’s editorial line-up,” Raphaely said.

The CEO of Media24 Magazines, Patricia Scholtemeyer, said Femina will slot into the women’s magazine division. ”Femina complements our portfolio and we welcome the magazine and the staff into our stable.”

Media24 women’s titles include Fair Lady, True Love and Sarie. — Sapa
