Helsingborg striker Henrik Larsson is to join Manchester United on loan, the Swedish club’s chairperson Sten-Inge Fredrin said on Friday.
Larsson (35), who won the Champions League with Barcelona in May, will play for the English Premier League leaders from January 1 to March 12, the local daily Helsingborgs Dagblad reported.
”It’s incredibly honouring, especially for Henrik and for HIF [Helsingborgs IF] as a football club to have a star that a super club like Manchester tries to bring over to solve a problem,” Fredrin told the paper on its website.
”We are very pleased with the deal but we won’t go into numbers,” Fredrin added.
Larsson returned to his old Swedish club following the World Cup in Germany after 13 years abroad with spells at Feyenoord, Celtic and Barcelona. — Reuters
