Stars at the top with draw against Leopards

Silver Stars shared the spoils of a goalless draw with the determined Black Leopards at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace on Sunday afternoon. Stars are still on top of the PSL log with 30 points. They are leading defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns by a solitary point but Sundowns have a game in hand.

Owen da Gama’s charges controlled the game in the first and second half but failed to trouble the Leopards.

Stars striker Hareaipha Marumo failed to register his name on the scoresheet by shooting high or missing the target.

Another Stars striker Edward Williams also failed to beat goalkeeper Thabang Stemmer. Leopards also had their chances but failed to beat Stars’s goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands.

Deep into the second half Joel Luphahla beat Stemmer and scored but referee Daniel Bennettt disallowed the goal. – Sapa
