The Media magazine has appointed professor Nixon Kariithi, head of media studies at Wits University, and award-winning radio journalist and broadcast journalism lecturer Gilbert Mokwatedi of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), to its editorial board.
Kariithi is a regular writer for The Media and founder of The African Economics Editors’ Network – a continent-wide initiative intended to improve economics, business and financial journalism in Africa.
Mokwatedi is a former SABC radio journalist and has been lecturing in broadcast journalism at TUT since May 2000. He is among the contributors to François Nel’s Writing for the Media, third edition.
