Two men and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with the rape of an 18-year-old pregnant woman, Northern Cape police said on Saturday.
The three, who allegedly raped the woman on Sunday, were arrested at Galeshewe near Kimberley on Friday, said Captain Tony Modise.
It is believed that the men, aged 18 and 23, the boy and four others stopped the woman and her boyfriend in a street in Galeshewe while they were walking home at about 11pm last Sunday.
Three men allegedly assaulted the woman’s boyfriend, while the others held the woman down.
”They took turns raping her and were later joined by the other three,” said Modise. ”The then took the boyfriend’s cellphone and left.”
The three were arrested after police investigations and will appear in court soon, said Modise.
Police are still searching for the other four men, he said. — Sapa
