Sepeng gets green light to compete again

Athletics South Africa (ASA) confirmed on Tuesday that Hezekiel Sepeng has been reinstated for all athletics competitions with immediate effect.

Sepeng tested positive for the prohibited substance, Norandrosterone, in an out-of-competition test in February 2005, and after having carefully reviewed all the evidence presented in his case, the ASA Tribunal found Sepeng guilty of having committed a doping offence and suspended him for two years in May 2005.

According to the IAAF rules, Sepeng has completed the mandatory four out-of-competition tests during his two-year ineligibility period and all tests have returned with negative results.

Sepeng is therefore free to compete in any athletics competition from May 12 2007. — Sapa
