Hendro Scholtz back with a bang for Cheetahs

Springbok flanker Hendro Scholtz was one of the heroes in the Cheetahs’ Currie Cup win of 80-33 over the Valke at Vodacom Park on Friday night.

Scholtz produced some of the magic that made him South Africa’s first choice number-six flanker in 2003.

But the star of the night was Richardt Strauss. The Free State hooker scored four tries and was named man of the match.

The Valke, who have not won a game this season, did not disgrace themselves and scored five tries against the home side. Flyhalf Riaan Viljoen played well, while flankers Schalk van der Merwe and Piet Krause also put in good performances. – Sapa
