Grisly find in carrier bag

A woman’s body was found in a carrier bag that was left with a Johannesburg street vendor by an unknown man on Monday, Gauteng police said.

Spokesperson Superintendent Eugene Opperman said a man left a carrier bag with a vendor on the corner of Pritchard and Goud streets.

”The man told the vendor to keep the bag for him and he would return later to fetch the bag.

”When the man did not return for his bag in the afternoon, the vendor opened the bag and discovered the body of a woman who was stabbed with a sharp object,” said Opperman.

The body of the woman was still intact.

”We are investigating the matter and a case of murder has been opened,” he said. — Sapa
