Beuthin’s parole to be revoked

The parole of former bouncer Gary Beuthin is to be revoked following his re-arrest in connection with an assault case, the Department of Correctional Services said on Thursday.

Correctional services spokesperson Manelisi Wolela said the department was in the process of revoking his parole conditions.

”Part of his parole conditions is that if it comes to the attention of the head of community corrections that [a] crime/criminal offence is being investigated against you a warrant for re-imprisonment may be issued and your parole may be revoked.”

Beuthin, along with two others, was arrested this week after allegedly assaulting a man with a baseball bat and stealing his watch and cash.

The three accused face charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of a firearm and pointing of a firearm.

Beuthin was out on parole at the time of the alleged crime — after serving 15 years of a 25-year sentence for kidnapping and assaulting a former girlfriend.

On Thursday, the assault case involving Beuthin was postponed in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court to November 29. — Sapa
