Suspended African National Congress (ANC) member Votani Majola has failed in another bid to have next week’s ANC national conference in Polokwane postponed.
The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) on Wednesday dismissed his urgent application for leave to appeal a Johannesburg High Court judgement, which also turned down an urgent application.
Majola launched the application to the SCA this week.
Last week, Johannesburg High Court Judge Hilton Epstein dismissed, with costs, Majola’s application to stop the national conference from going ahead on December 16.
Majola argued that the conference should be postponed for six months in order to ”level the playing field”.
The ANC’s Sandton branch had, in the meantime, suspended his membership of the party. — Sapa
