Dolphins opt for new blood in SuperSport Series

A weakened Dolphins cricket side, including a player fresh out of school, has been named for the key away fixtures against the Titans and the Eagles in the Supersport Series over the next two weekends. The Dolphins, currently in second spot, ended the 2007 half of the season on a dismal note as their batting collapsed.

The Dolphins, currently in second spot, ended the 2007 half of the season on a dismal note as their batting collapsed — especially against the Cobras in Cape Town.

International duty, injuries and defection to the Indian rebel league have all taken their toll and it is with this in mind that Khaya Zondo (17), the former Westville Boys High School captain, was picked to face the Titans at Willowmoore Park, Benoni, from Thursday.

Zondo performed well at the Khaya Majola Coca-Cola Cricket Week, where he was selected for the SA Colts side. – Sapa
