The man linked to the African National Congress (ANC) hoax-email saga, Muziwendoda Kunene, appeared in the Kestell Magistrate’s Court in the Free State on Wednesday.
A court official said the matter was postponed to April 9 for further investigation.
Kunene is facing a provisional charge of murder in the Free State court and remains in custody at the Kroonstad Prison.
The matter in Kestell relates to the October murder of Ballito estate agent Lynne Hume.
Late last year, another case against Kunene was postponed in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court.
This case arose when Kunene was arrested in Kranskop, KwaZulu-Natal, after his 24-year-old son laid a charge of attempted murder against him.
That case was postponed to April 7 for Kunene to obtain legal representation as well as for further investigation, and the consolidation of the three other separate cases against him.
In a separate matter, Kunene also stands accused of withholding information from the inspector general of intelligence and also faces a separate charge of fraud relating to the same case.
The hoax-email saga involved fake emails between ANC leaders discrediting then-ANC deputy president Jacob Zuma. — Sapa
