Sales of new vehicles fall in April

South African new vehicle sales declined by 2,8% to 42 359 units in April compared with the same month last year, the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers (Naamsa) said on Tuesday. Naamsa said sales fell further from a low base in April last year when sales were lower than normal.

Naamsa said sales fell further from a low base in April last year when sales were lower than normal due to delays associated with a vehicle registration system and the Easter holidays.

Including sales from Associated Motor Holdings, total sales were 46 677 vehicles in April compared with 48 498 last year. — Reuters
