Real reported to Fifa over Ronaldo pursuit

Manchester United have lodged an official complaint with world football governing body Fifa over Real Madrid’s pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo, the English champions confirmed on Monday.

United had warned the Spanish giants that they would consider reporting them unless they ended their campaign to take the 23-year-old winger to the Bernabeu.

But with the level of speculation surrounding the Portugal international’s future increasing by the day, United have registered their anger with Fifa.

”On May 27, Manchester United made clear its intention to report Real Madrid to Fifa if it continued to involve itself in the future of Cristiano Ronaldo,” a statement from the European champions read.

”Unfortunately, Real Madrid have not kept their own counsel and the club feels it has no alternative but to make a formal complaint to the world governing body, which it has done today [Monday].
