Moodie blues for SA tennis ace

South African doubles medal hope Wesley Moodie has been forced out of the Olympic tennis tournament with a serious knee injury, reports said.

Moodie, currently sixth in the ATP doubles race with Jeff Coetzee, will be replaced by Kevin Anderson, a senior official told the South African Press Association.

”Obviously Wesley is totally devastated,” said the country’s tennis chief Ian Smith.

”But he has been told that the torn cartilage he suffered at Wimbledon could now keep him out of tennis for six months.”

International Tennis Federation officials were unable immediately to confirm the withdrawal. – AFP
