‘I told him I know nothing about sex’

Alleged serial rapist Tsediso Letsoenya tried to force a 12-year-old boy to have sex with a teenaged girl, the Cape High Court heard on Tuesday.

Now aged 16, the youth told the court he was accompanied by two teenaged girls when he went to buy electricity for his mother in the early evening of Thursday September 23 2004.

As they walked, they were joined by an unknown man who had alighted from a taxi.

Letsoenya then suddenly ”appeared from nowhere”, and confronted the four with a gun.

The youth said he forced them into nearby bushes where they saw an elderly woman, to whom they tried to run for protection. Letsoenya blocked their escape, warning them that he did not want to kill anyone.

The youth said they were then ordered to undress, after which he was told to have sex with one of the girls. The unknown taxi passenger was ordered to have sex with the other girl.

”I told Letsoenya that I am still young, and do not know anything about sex,” he told the court.

When Letsoenya noticed that the other man was also struggling to have sex, he told the man to move away so he could show him how to do it. Letsoenya then raped the girl, the youth told the court

The youth testified that he again told Letsoenya he was too young, and had never had sex before. Letsoenya then raped the second girl, he said.

The trial continues on Wednesday. — Sapa
