Swallows keep title hopes alive with 5-3 win

Moroka Swallows kept their Premier Soccer League title hopes alive with a pulsating 5-3 victory over Dynamos at Rand Stadium on Sunday.

The halftime score was 1-1.

Dynamos were first on the when they rocked Swallows in the ninth minute. Dynamos midfield dynamo Josam Ndou rattled the net for the opening goal.

Swallows, however, rallied and kept searching for the equaliser until they were rewarded two minutes before the break with a goal from Lucas Sebona.

Swallows started the second half in much the same as they ended the first period and took the lead for the first time in this fiercely contested clash through Arthur Comboio on 59 minutes.

Adam Ndlovu scored his seventh league goal in Swallows colours on 76 minutes as the home side took firm control of the game.

But the Birds celebrations were interrupted as Joel Seroba reduced the deficit a minute later.

However, nothing could stall Swallows’ march to second place on the log with Edzai Kasinauyo and Samuel Ngobeni scoring in the dying minutes to ensure a vital victory.

Dynamos fought to the last minute with George Ramphele scoring a late consolation goal to make the final score 5-3. – Sapa
