New Public Service and Administration Minister Richard Baloyi reported for work on Thursday.
Baloyi stressed it was ”business unusual as usual” at the ministry.
”I am not here to introduce new policies, but to join you as a partner as we continue on our journey toward the acceleration of service delivery and the achievement of government’s programme of action,” Baloyi said during his first address in the job.
He acknowledged the significant achievements of his predecessor, Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi, with whom he had a long working relationship.
Baloyi, an African National Congress (ANC) MP, hails from Giyani in Limpopo, and was the former chairperson of the National Assembly portfolio committee on public service and administration.
He also expressed his appreciation to new President Kgalema Motlanthe and the leadership of the ANC for their leadership and the confidence in him. — Sapa
