Platinum Stars held high-riding Ajax Cape Town to a 1-1 draw in an Absa Premiership match at Mafikeng Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Stars striker Dingaan Masanabo put his team in the lead in the 60th minute, while Joseph Marcel levelled matters for Ajax in the 85th minute. The two teams were tight in midfield and never gave each other space to create scoring chances in the first half.
However, Ajax suffered a major blow five minutes into the second half when defender Clayton Daniels was shown the red card for unsporting behaviour.
Stars defender Michael Khaile was also sent-off for an early shower following a bad tackle on an Ajax player. — Sapa
