Weapons seized in Durban clampdown

Numerous weapons and suspected stolen property were seized during a festive-season clampdown in Durban’s KwaDabeka area, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Wednesday.

Captain Bongani Khomo said among the items confiscated from motorists were four knives, a dagger, 46 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition, one double barrel shotgun, 38 parcels of dagga, one money bag full of dagga, a fax machine, a computer and a DVD player.

One suspect who had been arrested was due to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court soon.

”This has been a very busy festive season … and we will continue to curb crime,” he said.

Khomo urged motorists to drive safely. — Sapa
