A Kempton Park woman will appear in court on Monday after allegedly throwing her six-year-old child in front of a car, police said.
Captain Jethro Mtshali said the 24-year-old mother was seen arguing with her two children in CR Swart Street in the CBD when suddenly she flung the boy in front of an oncoming vehicle.
“The driver braked and the boy wasn’t injured by the vehicle, but was bruised,” explained Mtshali.
She was arrested and her two children were placed in a place of safety while she was taken to holding cells ahead of her appearance in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.
She is expected to face a charge of attempted murder.
Mtshali said the court would assess the initial details and decide whether she also needs to be referred for any form of treatment. - Sapa
