Luthuli House safe, says ANC spokesperson

Luthuli House employees were back behind their desks by lunchtime on Wednesday following a bomb scare, an African National Congress (ANC) spokesperson said.

”We came back at around 1pm. We were told it was safe,” said ANC spokesperson Ishmael Mnisi.

”We are waiting for a formal report from the police,” he added.

The ANC’s headquarters at Luthuli House in Johannesburg was evacuated after a bomb scare earlier in the morning.

”We received a bomb scare around 10.30am. We received information from our security person at Luthuli House that we need to evacuate as quickly as possible,” said Mnisi. — Sapa
