Lions pair O’Driscoll and Jones flying home

Centre Brian O’Driscoll and prop Adam Jones will return home on Wednesday after being ruled out of Saturday’s third and final Test against South Africa, British and Irish Lions officials said on Tuesday.

O’Driscoll suffered concussion in Saturday’s second-Test defeat while Jones dislocated his shoulder in an incident that led to a two-week ban for Springbok lock Bakkies Botha.

The Lions, 2-0 down in the series, also have other injury concerns but have not said they will be calling up any replacements for the match in Johannesburg.

Both sides will name their teams on Thursday. — Reuters
